Beans and pulses flooding Monywa market

The high inflow of beans and pulses into Monywa Commodity Warehouse are seen in Monywa city, Sagaing Region, said U Tin Ko Ko, public relations officer of Monywa Commodity Warehouse.
“Approximately 2,000 bags of green gram and 7,000 bags of pigeon pea are daily supplied to the Monywa market. Green gram from Pale, Yaw, Kalay and Budalin areas are entering the market. The prices stand at K37,000-K44,500 per basket for green gram and K42,300-K44,500 for pigeon pea,” he was quoted as saying.
Those pigeon pea is again delivered to the Yangon market, while Mandalay traders demand green gram for export to China.
At present, the green gram price slides and the price of pigeon pea is relatively low as well.
Over 2,000 bags of sesame seeds supplied to the Monywa market are conveyed to China. The prices of sesame seeds moved in the range of K42,000 and K70,000 per basket depending on different varieties, U Tin Ko Ko continued.
The corn price is up by K2,000 per basket compared to the previous weeks. They are sent to the Mandalay market and the feed processing plants. The traders are engaged in the electronic trading platform at the moment, he stated.
