Beijing Buddhist delegation to visit more religious sites in Myanmar

Members of the Beijing Buddhist delegation visiting Myanmar will go on a study tour in the Yangon and Bago regions to visit local Buddhist monasteries and academic colleges from 3 to 6 September.
The delegation, led by Lama Hu Xuefeng, Chairman of the Beijing Buddhist Association of the People’s Republic of China and Abbot of Yonghe Temple, includes representatives from Yonghe, Guanghua, Tanzhe and Youshengjiao temples, as well as Buddhist Lodge.
During their visit to Myanmar, the delegation met Ms Ma Jia, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, to exchange views on strengthening the Sino-Myanmar Buddhist Dhamma friendship and on matters related to promoting closer ties between the people of the two countries. Counsellor Mr Li Qianguo and other officials from the embassy were also present at the meeting.
In addition, the delegation met with Chairman U Tin Oo of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association (Central) and members, as well as the patron, chairman, and members of the Yangon Fujian Association at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon. — ASH/TH
