The 70th anniversary of Union Day and 102nd birthday of Bogyoke Aung San will be observed on a grand scale in Panglong in southern Shan State, by the Shan State Government.
KBZ’s Brighter Future Myanmar Foundation, which is carrying out philanthropic works nationwide, contributed Ks60 million on Monday for holding the anniversary of Union Day through Shan State Planning and Economic Minister U Sai Nyunt Lwin and responsible personnel.
The 70th anniversary of Union Day will be held
nationwide with the theme of helping the Union Peace Conference — 21st century Panglong, according to the Union Government.
BFM’s philanthropic activities include sinking tube-wells, digging lakes for drinking water, free health care services and building health care facilities in Shan State. In the recent past, the organisation imported more than US$2 million worth of warm clothes and delivered the articles and food aid to internally displaced persons in eastern, northern and southern Shan State who were facing extreme cold weather due to La Nina.
