Book launch and music festival for late renowned singer Mar Mar Aye

The book launch for ‘Yin Phwint Kyi Par Thungechin’ (Open Your Heart, Friend), written by the late renowned Myanmar singer Mar Mar Aye, and her literature and music festival will take place at the Royal Music Academy in Thingangyun on 27 July.
At the event, Mar Mar Aye’s songs will be performed by pianists and well-known singers for the audience.
“A phrase in the book’s introduction, ‘my sorrowful notes’, truly reflects its content. The book reveals that even a successful and famous person’s life is far from perfect. It is written as though Mar Mar Aye is sharing her experiences with a friend. Our Lin Lunn Khin Publishing House is releasing this second edition of ‘Yin Phwint Kyi Par Thungechin’ to mark what would have been Mar Mar Aye’s 82nd birthday and the half-year anniversary of her passing,” said a representative of the publishing house.
The book features Mar Mar Aye’s reflections on her married life, presented in the form of letters to a friend. —ASH/TRKM
