A briefing on the PR electoral system and crosscheck on repeated basic voter lists of Rakhine State was held in Sittway Township of Rakhine State yesterday.
It was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, Union Election Commission Member Daw Nu Mya Zan, Chief Justice and other relevant officials.
First, UEC Member Daw Nu Mya Zan clarified the electoral processes, knowledge of the PR system, provisions in the Constitution, provisions for collection of voter lists stated in the Law, basic voter lists, scrutinized lists, repeated numbers and duplication of identity cards in detail.
Then, she observed the crosscheck processes carried out by the staff of UEC, the General Administration Department and the Ministry of Immigration and Population using computer software on duplication of ID cards, ones who do not have ID cards/ perfect documents, those under age of 18, incomplete date of birth and double date of birth and month together with Rakhine State Social Affairs Minister U Aung Myo. — MNA/KTZH
