Brigade-5 of KNU attacks camps of Tatmadaw with lesser strengths by breaking NCA agreements

Brigade-5 of KNU attacked Htimuhta camp, a border security outpost of Myanmar on 27 March, by breaking the facts mentioned in the NCA without obeying the order of the KNU Central Leading Committee. Hence, information was released that necessary measures will be taken against the attacks on 28 April for the event and security measures.
At about 5 am yesterday, Brigade-5 of KNU attacked and set fire to Thawlehta and Uthuta camps that are Thaungyin River security camps of the Tatmadaw with superior strengths. Without obeying the order of the KNU Central Leading Committee, Brigade-5 of KNU is continuously committing acts undermining the peace process by breaking the NCA with planting mines against Tatmadaw columns, attacking as a disturbance at the construction of the routes contributing to regional development and firing at military headquarters with the use of heavy weapons from a far distance.
As Brigade-5 of KNU is breaking the NCA and undermining the peace process without obeying the order of the KNU Central Leading Committee, the Tatmadaw, on its part, will continue the border region security and necessary anti-insurgency operations. — MNA
