Call for tender to implement Online Ticketing and Payment System for train tickets

The Ministry of Transport and Communications has called for a tender to design, build and operate an online ticketing and payment system where train tickets can be purchased online.

In order to implement the project, the ministry has invited domestic/foreign investors and developers to bid for the Yangon-Mandalay railway section, the Yangon-Pyay-Bagan railway section and the Yangon – Mawlamyine railway section, and it is planning to implement the initial work in these sections.
The investor who will implement the tender for the Online Ticketing and Payment System must be a company owned by Myanmar nationals, a foreign-owned company, a joint venture or a consortium, it stated.

There are two steps in the tender selection process -submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) proposal and submission of a Request for Proposal (RFP) by the EOI winner. In the first step, domestic/foreign companies interested in investing in the project were invited to submit EOI proposals. The documents can be bought at K 300,000 per set from the Support Department, Myanma Railways, at the corner of Merchant street and 51st street, Botahtaung township, Yangon, during office hours from 22 July to 2 August.

EOI proposals must be submitted to the above address by and before 2:30 pm on 16 September.
