Ceasefire talks likely to resume in a few days

The Union Peace Working Committee is reported to have its seventh meeting in a few days with the Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team at Myanmar Peace Centre here, according to officials at MPC.
The five-day meeting will focus on eight remaining points of the draft nationwide ceasefire deal, including conflict reduction, ceasefire supervision and restrictions of military operations.
U Aung Naing Oo, joint director of peace talks at MPC, said the meeting is expected to take place on 17 March.
The two sides coordinated the draft nationwide ceasefire agreement at the same venue from 22-23 last December.–Ye Khaung Nyunt, Myat Thanda Maung; Photo: Po Htaung
