Ceremony to share merits with martyr leaders held in Nay Pyi Taw

The MoTC Union Minister and the congregation observe the Five Precepts from Sayadaws at the event in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

On the 75th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day, the ceremony of giving merit to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation was held yesterday morning at the Zabuthiri Hall of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Office in Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory.
The ceremony was attended by monks led by Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Zaninda, the Presiding Nayaka of the Pauk Myaing Monastery in Nay Pyi Taw, and member of the State Administration Council, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Maung Maung Naing, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Major-General Zaw Hein, deputy ministers, Nay Pyi Taw council members and officials.
Before the start of the ceremony, SAC Member Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, paid obeisance to the Buddha statue in the hall and donated food, fruits, flowers, water and an oil lamp.
Afterwards, the Union minister and the congregation observed the Five Precepts from Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Zaninda of the Pauk Myaing Monastery in Nay Pyi Taw. They listened to the sermons that the monks chanted, and donated offertories to the monks.
Afterwards, the guests who attended the ceremony listened to the Samvega Katha from Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Vimala Buddhi, Presiding Sayadaw of the Mingala Zeyon Pali Tekkatho in Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw, and shared the merits with great martyrs.
At 10:37 am, those who attended the ceremony paid their tribute to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation and observed a one-minute silence tribute. After the ceremony, the Union minister and officials donated a day meal to Sayadaws and monks. — MNA
