The Graduation Ceremony of the Certificate Course in Basic Diplomatic Skills (41/2018), conducted by the Strategic Studies and Training Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was held at the Winzinminyarzar Hall of the Ministry’s Office (Yangon) at 10 a.m. yesterday, with a closing address delivered by U Myint Thu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Present on the occasion were Retired Ambassadors, Responsible Officials of the Departments under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senior Diplomats, Professors and Instructors as well as trainees.
The 13-week long course comprised the subjects related to diplomacy, negotiation skills, international relations, international law, international conferencing, contemporary international affairs, economics, etc., and also the simulation exercises for some subjects. And it was attended by 190 trainees.
Since 2000, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conducted Basic Diplomatic Skill Courses two times in a year for the public who are interested in diplomacy and international affairs. At present, there are 7,112 trainees graduated from the training programmes.—MNA (Translated by Win Ko Ko Aung)
