Cherry ferries equipped with life jackets, lifebuoys for safety of passengers

jackettEmergency life safety equipment are facilitated at Cherry ferries which run along Dala-Pansodan route, Township Manager U Hsan Tun of Pansodan Jetty said.
“We have prepared safety works for the route. Ferry officials equip life jackets for passengers depending on the climatic conditions,” the manager said. Two Cherry ferries are running along Dala-Pansodan route daily. Each ferry facilitates 1,250 life jackets, 52 large lifebuoys and nine small lifebuoys for the passengers.
“One life jacket is one passenger only. A large lifebuoy can be used for 22 passengers and a small lifebuoy for four passengers,” the manager explained.
Cherry ferries donated by Japan government launched their maiden trips on 16 December 2014. Each ferry can transport 1,200 passengers once. The two ferries give transport services to more than 27,000 passengers daily, said U Nyunt Win from
