On 17 April, twelve children arrived in Beijing with their parents to receive free cardiac surgery and were encouraged by Myanmar Ambassador U Thit Lin Ohn who pledged to provide assistance to them. The operation will be undergone at the An Han Hospital in Beijing.
The move is part of the China-Myanmar Friendship Program for free surgery treatment for 50 children, who received medical diagnosis out of 100 children between 28 to 31 March by a medical team from China at the Yankin Children’s Hospital in Yangon.
The children and their parents were accompanied by Heart Specialist Dr Aung Thein Tun from the Yankin Children’s Hospital, a nurse and Mrs. Meng Fen (alias) Daw Kyi Lin, an in-charge of Yunnan-based Mingalar Magazine.— Saw Thein Win
