Children’s Literature Festival reaches final day

Children’s Literature Festival drew a much larger crowd on its final day in Thandwe in the south of Rakhine State.
Like in the previous days, visitors thronged the booths on ethnic Rakhine races, traffic rules, health and sports, education, painting, wall papers, local products, handicrafts and Asho Chin literature and culture, while the story telling contest in English, paper folding, colouring and song competitions and impromptu talks of students were also the attractive events.
A public roundtable talk on the involvement in the regional development undertakings was attended by Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint and officials. Roundtable talks presented by Rakhine State Social Affairs Minister Dr Chan Tha, Head of the state administration office U Aung Kyaw Than and Pyithu Hluttaw Representatives U Min Kyi and U Tun Thant Kyaw captured the attention of students.
At the prize presentation ceremony, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint presented awards to the teams that stood first, second and third in the football match, State Minister Dr Chan Tha winners in sepak takraw and volleyball, Director-General U Ye Naing winners in table tennis competitions, Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Min Kyi winners in a traditional sports event.
Officials also presented prizes to winners in children’s competitions.—Aung Min Han
