China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week 2021 launched

Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education for China and its provincial government, the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was opened yesterday in Gui’an New Area, southwest China’s Guizhou Province.
Deputy General Secretary of the Guizhou Province Administrative Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China delivered opening speeches during the opening ceremony. After that, Education Ministers from ASEAN countries, Deputy Ministers and Ambassadors and ASEAN Secretary-General delivered speeches via video messages.
Next, Guizhou Provincial Administrative Committee Secretary launched the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week 2021.
Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint, and Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China U Myo Thant Pe delivered video messages on the occasion of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week 2021. Directors-General and rectors also joined the videoconference.
A series of activities covering higher education, and vocational education including medical science, agricultural science and business management, and engineering were focused on the event. Discussions of basic education school heads are also being held online from 24 to 26 September. —MNA
