Chinese Ambassador calls on Union Health Minister

Union Health Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win receives the Chinese ambassador yesterday.

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received Ambassador Ms Ma Jia of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and party at the ministry yesterday morning.
They exchanged views on Pauk-Phaw friendship and mutual respect between the two countries, further promoting cooperation in the health sector, health cooperation with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries, collaboration between medical universities of the two countries, the development of the traditional medicine sector and greater collaboration among traditional medicine universities, operations of the Myanmar Disease Prevention and Control and Training Academy and the training of staff to improve their capacity, cooperation between the two countries in cardiology education and cardiovascular surgery and deepening collaboration in healthcare based on the Myanmar-China community.
The deputy minister and directors-general, officials from the Ministry of Health and representatives from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China were present at the meeting. — MNA/TS
