Chinese Embassy donates 5 cars to Peace Commission

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has donated five Volvo cars to the Peace Commission (PC) of Myanmar yesterday, aiming at improving the efficiency of the commission and supporting the peace process in Myanmar.
The car donation ceremony was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) on Shwe Li Road in Yangon yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador Mr. Hong Liang said that the Peace Commission is an organization which plays an important role for Myanmar government’s peace implementation process.
He said he attended the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) together with State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi,
In that tour, leaders of the two countries have reached an agreement on matters related to joint-development in the Belt and Road initiative, which is the path of peace, added the Chinese Ambassdor.
The peace implementation processes in Myanmar, particularly, in northern Myanmar is very important for not only Myanmar’s federal Union establishment but also peace and stability at China-Myanmar border area and developing the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.
He also said they will continually support Myanmar in her peace implementation processes from constructive role.
If the peace implementation is achieved, it will be a historic achievement for Myanmar’s democratic transition, bringing benefits and welfares to all ethnic people in Myanmar.
The Ambassador also said to continually strive for peace implementation in Myanmar with great diligence.
Afterwards, Peace Commission Chairman Dr. Tin Myo Win accepted the donated cars handed over by Chinese Ambassador Mr. Hong Liang and returned a certificate of honor.
Peace Commission Vice Chairman U Thein Zaw also presented gifts. Present at the event were secretary U Khin Zaw and members of the Peace Commission, Peace Commission Advisor U Hla Maung Shwe, U Thet Naing and officials, and officials from Chinese Embassy in Myanmar.—Ye Khaing Nyunt (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
