Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe presided over a coordination meeting on the opening of universities and degree colleges under the ministry yesterday.
The Union Minister said all the second-year and above classes will be opened on 10 November and the school enrollment will be starting from 27 October to 18 November including the weekends. The first-semester exam will be on 9 March 2023 and so there should be full-time classes. The professors of respective departments should make preparations for teaching and should not discriminate in dividing the classes on a bias.
He then highlighted the instructions of State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing regarding building a warm community-like family among the upper and lower-level staff in order to gain mutual respect and accomplishments in work procedures.
He continued that the rectors, pro-rectors and professors should inspect the cleanliness and security of the university compound, departments and classrooms, and supervise the daily attendance of demonstrators and tutors to their respective classes.
All education personnel should understand that they will face actions if they post confidential letters on social media Facebook, and should conduct effective research regarding their subjects that bring benefits to the regions. If so, the education will contribute to the MSMEs.
Then, Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint discussed the measures for universities’ image and cleanliness, seeking suggestions for education promotion from the teachers who studied at foreign universities and capacity-building courses for teachers. — MNA
