A popular Myanmar film from 1957, Dr Aung Kyaw Oo, has been recreated for modern audiences and retitled Hnaung. The film’s introduction event took place at the Novotel Hotel on 10 September, according to actress Naw Phaw Eh Htar, one of the lead performers.
The recreated film is based on a novel by Shwe Done Be Aung, with the screenplay written by Lwin Min Anrt. Directed by Academy Award-winning director Aww Ratha, it was produced by Shwe Nadi Shwe Yee Film Production.
“I portrayed Thit Thit May. That is a serious drama focused on marriage, and I’m eager to see how the audience responds. I invite all my fans to support the film. We’ll know if it meets the audience’s expectations once it hits the cinemas,” Naw Phaw Eh Htar said.
The film stars Academy Nay Toe, Phyo Ngwe Soe, Tin Maung San Min Win, Thuriya, Poe Mamhe Thar, Naw Phaw Eh Htar, and many other actors. — ASH/TRKM
