Closing, award-giving ceremony of Inter-Region/State traditional martial arts (Myanma Thaing) contest 2022 held in Nay Pyi Taw

The closing and award-giving ceremony of Inter-Region/State traditional martial arts or Myanma Thaing Contest 2022 was organized at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday following the COVID-19 health rules.
The male and female final matches of respective weight classes were held yesterday.
After the matches, the award-giving ceremony was held. Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung, Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Union Minister at the Union Government Office (2) U Chitt Naing and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan gave the first, second, third and joint third prizes to the winners of respective weight classes for the various Thaing events.
Then, SAC member U Moung Har awarded trophies to the best fighters while other SAC members Jeng Phang Naw Taung gave the National Championship trophy to the Mandalay Region team for winning six gold, six silver and one bronze, Women’s Championship trophy to the Mandalay Region team that won seven gold, two silver and five bronze medals by Daw Aye Nu Sein, overall championship trophy to the Mandalay Region team for winning 13 gold, eight silver and six bronze by Mahn Nyein Maung.
The Myanma Thaing contest was organized to produce new young generations who are interested in martial arts and emerge young, strong and fit athletes to lift the dignity of the country. — MNA
