Conserve biospheres of Myanmar recognized by UNESCO

Famous tourist destinations in Myanmar namely Inlay Lake and Indawgyi Lake have been designated as UNESCO biosphere reserves.
The world countries implement the nature-based tourism industry for their earnings and the tourism industry receives a certain amount of income during the pandemic period.
The Indawgyi Biosphere Reserve will become a model region for integrating biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, and a centre for science and education for sustainable development in Myanmar.
UNESCO said the Inlay Lake biosphere reserve covers a total of 489,721 hectares. The wetland ecosystem of the freshwater lake is home to 267 species of birds – of which 82 are wetland birds – 43 species of freshwater fishes, otters and turtles. Diverse flora and fauna species are recorded and the lake is reported to be the nesting place for the globally endangered bird species.

Biospheres in Myanmar as well as wildlife sanctuaries are crucial for the prevention of climate change as much as possible. If global people participate in the process, all the people can save the planet Earth from the impacts of climate change in time.

 

Biodiversity and ecosystems, which are the main roles of tourism, are preserved, and the two ecosystems of the Inlay Lake and Indawgyi Lake are preserved by maintaining the socio-economic development of the local people residing in these two areas while preserving the development of the ecosystems in the region and integrating the human and natural harmony.

The Inlay Lake and the Indawgyi Lake draw the attention of international travellers in addition to Asian tourists. The Inlay Lake is recognized as ASEAN Heritage Park, Man and Biosphere Reserve and Ramsar site.
The various biodiversities, aquatic species and humans are living in the environs of the lakes. If the people conserve the ecosystems, it can support the development of the tourism industry and the socio-economic status of local people. Moreover, the tourism industry earns income for the country and so the world countries conserve the biospheres. Ecosystem and humans are interrelated and so all the people need to take pride that UNESCO which already recognized the two biosphere reserves.
There are 727 biospheres in 131 countries throughout the world. Moreover, the neighbouring countries are conserving the biospheres. There are 22 biodiversities in global countries, and the Myanmar tourism industry boasts of two UNESCO biosphere reserves Inlay and Indawgyi lakes.
