The second day of the 2024-2025 Myanmar National League fixture eight took place on 24 August at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre in Yangon, where Dagon Star United and Yadanabon FC ended in a 1-1 draw.
Dagon Star United, currently fourth in the standings, and Yadanabon FC, holding the fifth position after seven fixtures, faced off in a closely contested match that concluded in a stalemate.
Both teams, composed primarily of domestic players, fielded their key lineups. The first half saw limited scoring opportunities as both sides played cautiously, leading to a goalless draw at halftime. Yadanabon FC broke the deadlock early in the second half with a goal from forward Ti Nyein Min. However, Dagon Star United quickly responded in the 54th minute with an equalizer from winger Swan Laman. Yadanabon’s Ti Nyein Min was named the Man of the Match for his performance.
Following this match, Dagon Star United now has 16 points, while Yadanabon FC has 14 points.
On 23 August, Maha United secured a 1-0 victory over Myawady, while the match between Thitsa Arman and Dagon Port ended in a 3-3 draw.
Fixture eight will continue today with Hanthawady United facing ISPE at Thuwunna YTC and Yangon United taking on Ayeyawady United at Yangon United Sports Complex. – Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
