Daily imports of anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products continue

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, by arranging continuous importation through trading posts, international airport and seaports with standard operating procedures.
On 22 September, anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products including oxygen plants and concentrators were imported by seven companies and transported by two vehicles.
A total of 43 tonnes of oxygen (liquid) carried by two bowsers, 1,579 empty oxygen cylinders, eight oxygen plants, 68 oxygen concentrators for home use, 14 tonnes of the glove, and 59 tonnes of masks were imported via Myawady and Chinshwehaw trading posts, and Yangon International Airport.
Two oxygen bowsers were transported to Yangon.
Next, seven Oxygen Plants imported via seaport were transported to Yangon and one oxygen plant was imported via Chinshwehaw trading post to Kyaukphyu, Rakhine State respectively.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for better importation.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
