The Department of Labour has announced that 388 employment agencies have not submitted the personal data of expatriate workers for the period from April to December 2023.
The agencies have reported difficulties in listing the profiles of the workers, as some cannot be contacted or have changed jobs.
Nearly 570 agencies hold official licences to send workers abroad. However, 70 per cent of them have not provided the list of workers they sent overseas.
The Ministry of Labour has warned the agencies to ensure that expatriate salaries are remitted through official channels. — TWA/ TRKM
