Department officials protect locals from wild elephants

IMAG0017Tatkon, 23 Nov — A squad comprising Police Captain Zaw Lin and a party of the Forest Police Corps and departmental officials went to Block 41 of Upper Hsinthe forest reserve in Tatkon Township to send wild elephants back to their native areas safely with the assistance of local people.
The wild elephants arrived from the Bago mountain range in Tatkon Township’s forests last year, but they did not attack people. As the wild elephants wondered through the forests for many days this year, the local people have had to avoid tending to their farms due to the danger of the wild elephants, according to the local people.
