Deputy Minister on inspection tour of regional development undertakings in Bagan, NyaungU

According to the guidance of the Head of the State, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development is contributing to dredging two of the 91 ancient lakes in the Bagan World Heritage Site.
Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe inspected the excavation of Lake No 059 Paeain Lake near Taywintaing village yesterday. He stressed that the excavation be completed in time to collect water before the end of the monsoon season, in accordance with the specifications of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister inspected progress of paving a four-furlong entrance road to Kontangyi village, funded by the 2024-25 financial year State budget from the Rural Development Department. He also viewed preparation for paving a one-mile concrete road and building a culvert.
While in Kontangyi village, he met with members of the Kontangyi Agricultural Production Cooperative Society, the Thant Sin Kyel Agriculture and General Business Cooperative Society, and the Phyaukseikkim Agriculture and General Business Cooperative Society.
He also inspected progress of a gravel road from East Phwa Saw village to Zayaweri Lake, being built by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development. He looked into construction of a 150-foot concrete culvert. He also viewed storage of rain water at Zayaweri Lake.
Next, he attended the graduation ceremony of the basic sewing machine training course opened by the Small-Scale Industries Department in Thahtaykan village. He inspected construction of a 20-foot culvert in Minnanthu Village, placing of gravels on all rural roads in the same village, dredging of Lake No 061 near Myaynelay village and inflow of water.
In Myinkaba model village, he inspected construction of rural gravel roads, drains and 10 slab culverts.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister visited the Lowkananda Pagoda and also met with local vendors producing and selling value-added products such as shower soap, dry tea leaves, jam, beauty oil, and shampoo. He visited U Ba Nyein’s lacquerware industry in Bagan Myothit. — MNA/TKO
