Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo discussed with officials in Yangon about promotion of export sector. The deputy minister and party arrived at the Myanmar International Trade Centre at the corner of Merchant Road and Bosonpat Road in Pabedan Township. Director-General Daw Naw Mutar Kapaw from the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization and officials explained the local value-added products.
The deputy minister and party also inspected renovation and installation works at the offices for foreign trade representatives. They also visited online sales centre of Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Association, where the deputy minister advised to produce high-value goods for export markets from local produce. They looked around the sales of vegetables, fruits, electrical appliances and household items.
At the UMFCCI, the deputy minister and officials held a meeting with local companies which have secured export permits for rice and broken rice to China. The meeting was attended by the officials from Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, as well as the president of UMFCCI and the chairman of Myanmar Rice Federation.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
