Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Win joins ASEAN+3 Deputy Finance Ministers and Deputy Central Bank Governors Meeting

The MoPFI deputy minister takes part in the online ASEAN+3 Deputy Finance Ministers Meeting yesterday.

Deputy Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Maung Maung Win joined the virtual meeting of ASEAN+3 Deputy Finance Ministers and Deputy Central Bank Governors Meeting yesterday.
The meeting discussed progress in Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization (CMIM) programmes, revision of CMIM Agreement, 2022 budget status and recruitment of ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), reviews on work plans of AMRO, ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook 2021 of AMRO regarding with economic relief plans in the post COVID-19 period and policies of ASEAN+3 member countries.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister highlighted the participation of officials from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam in regional macro-economic research of AMRO, capacity building of Myanmar’s financial resilience against climate and natural disasters team, response to COVID-19 impacts and economic objectives.
The ASEAN+3 Deputy Finance Ministers and Deputy Central Bank Governors Meeting is alternatively held in ASEAN countries and China, Japan and ROK. The meeting is hosted by Brunei Darussalam this year while ROK serves as co-chair.
The outcomes of today’s meeting will be submitted to the AFCDM+3 meeting to be held on 30 March. — MNA
