Disaster search, rescue drills conducted in Kawthoung

During the drills, the combined forces made special exercises for searching and rescuing speed boats and people in case of natural disasters in the rainy season.

Marine Police Force (Kawthoung) and the Fire Department forces conducted disaster search and rescue drills near Bayintnaung No (2) Port and the Parchan Bay in Kawthoung Township yesterday morning.
Brig-Gen Ye Min Htet led members of the Naval Police Force (Kawthoung) and District Fire Department Chief Aung Nyein Oo headed members of the fire brigade for the rescue drills.
During the drills, the combined forces made special exercises for searching and rescuing speed boats and people in case of natural disasters in the rainy season.
Search and rescue of drowning people at sea using rescue transport vessels and drills for rescue operations including first aid, evacuation and firefighting were also conducted, according to the Kawthoung Township Fire Department. — Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)/GNLM
