DMH warns 11 rivers may exceed danger levels

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has announced that water levels in 11 rivers, including the Ayeyawady and Chindwin rivers, may exceed dangerous levels at least once.
According to the announcement, water levels in the townships of Bago, Hpa-an, Myawady, Ngathainggyoung, Thaboung, Maubin, and Bilin may reach dangerous levels due to the rivers Bago, Thanlwin, Thaungyin, Ngawun, Toe, and Bilin from September to October.
The Ayeyawady River is expected to rise above dangerous levels in the townships of Pakokku, NyaungU, Seiktha, Hinthada, and Zalun. Additionally, the Chindwin River in Kalewa, Mingin, Kani, and Monywa; the Myittha River in Kalay; the Dokhtawady River in Myitnge; the Sittoung River in Toungoo and Madauk; and the Shwegyin River in Shwegyin may also surpass their respective dangerous levels. — TWA/TRKM
