Doyen literati pay homage to pagodas in Nay Pyi Taw

Doyen literati who attended the ceremony of the 29th Pakokku U Ohn Pe Lifetime Award for Literary Achievement, Pakokku U Ohn Pe Literary Award, Pakokku U Ohn Pe Education Award and Pakokku U Ohn Pe Library Award paid homage to Uppatasanti Pagoda and the construction of Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
They made homage tours to Uppatasanti Pagoda and Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw. An official explained the aim of the construction of the image, the processes involved in its conveyance and the construction of the iron cranes to stabilize the image.
Doyen literati donated K210,000 to the construction of the Maravijaya Buddha Image and observed the ongoing construction of religious buildings. — MNA/KZW
