Drugs seized in Bhamo, Myeik, Kamayut townships

A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a motorcycle driven by Sai Ohn Myat and Ma Htu Noo (alias) Daw Htoo on board near the Bhamo-Mansi Road, Sihe Village-tract, Bhamo Township at 6:00 pm on 17 May.
During the inspection, 0.198 kilo of heroin and 5,850 stimulant tablets were seized from the motorcycle.
At 1:30 pm that day, Myo Naing (alias) Bai Gyi was found suspiciously in front of a garage on the Industrial Zone Road, Myeik (South) Ward, Myeik Township, and 2,000 ecstasy tablets were seized from him.
On 14 May, Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a Mark II car driven by Min Ko Ko and followed by Kyaw Lin Htet (alias) Kayin Lay and another Mark II car driven by Paing Thet Kyaw (alias) Paing Gyi and followed by Sai Ye Htet (alias) Thar Thar, Ye Marn Aung (alias) Ye Marn, Min Thant Htoo (alias) Panda at Narnataw Street, 7th Ward, Kamayut Township.
During the inspection, 3,600 ecstasy tablets were seized from the vehicle driven by Min Ko Ko and K144 million worth of ecstasy together with 104 USD and 210 baht were also found on the vehicle driven by Paing Thet Kyaw (alias) Paing Gyi.
According to the investigation, Ma May Than Soe (alias) Soe Soe, who was involved in transporting ACT pills, was arrested at Building No. (34), 3rd Floor, Montleksaunggon (North) Ward, Yangyiaung Road, SangyoungTownship at 8 pm on the same day.
They are being prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the Myanmar Police Force. — MNA
