Drugs seized in several townships

On 27 June, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force carried out the inspections on the Phakant-Lonkhin Road, near Nammahpyit Village of Nammahpyit Village-tract in Phakant Township and confiscated 36,100 stimulant tablets from a motorcycle driven by Lamaung Zaung Jone (aka) Zaung Jone accompanied by Ma Saimai at 1:30 pm.
On the same day, a Mazda Bongo truck driven by Joseph was pulled over and examined by a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force near Kywetatson Village of Kywetatson Village-tract in Thazi Township and 44 kilogrammes of raw opium were seized at 12:50 pm.
Similarly, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a passenger car at the Joint Inspection Checkpoint of Mayanchaung Village, Mayanchaung Village-tract in Kyaikhto Township and captured 20,000 stimulant tablets at 5:15 pm.
In addition, a suspected Thai citizen Wollatham Wisetatjinda (aka) Oko was found in the Sansai Ward (B), Tachilek Township and inspected by a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force. Later, the team seized 10,000 stimulant tablets from him.
The suspects are being prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the MPF stated. —MNA
