Drugs seized in some townships across Myanmar

A combined team consisting of members of the Sagaing Region Police Force examined a Honda Fit car driven by Maung Dwe and a Nissan 12-wheel car driven by Nyein Chan Oo accompanied by Kyi Hlaing and Zaw Lin Naing near the Kaunghmudaw Stupa in Sagaing Township and captured 1,300,000 Pseudoephedrine pills and 360 litres of ethyl ether restricted chemicals at 4:30 pm on 30 August.
In addition, at 2:30 pm on 1 September, a combined team including the Anti-Narcotic Task Force Police examined Aung Zaw Oo (aka) Kayin on Magway Road in 9 Ward of Hlinethaya (West) Township and seized 10,000 stimulant tablets.
Similarly, at 6 am on the same day, Police searched a house of Kaw Won Chan in 4 Ward of Kutkai Township and captured 0.02 kilogramme of heroin and 2,800 stimulant tablets.
Afterwards, Police examined a motorbike driven by San Aung (aka) Bran San Aung at the Shwezarli junction on the Mantong-Mongmit Road in Mongmit Township and captured 27,380 stimulant tablets at 10:30 am on the same day.
The suspects are prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — MNA
