EAOs, NGOs, political parties visit construction site of Mara Vijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw

The representatives of ethnic armed organizations, NGOs and political parties, who attended the Diamond Jubilee Union Day Ceremony, visited the construction site of Mara Vijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
First, the construction in charge Brig-Gen Zaw Naing Oo explained that the main intentions of the construction of Buddha image, seeking advice from State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, the marble rock was conveyed from the Sagyin Hill to Nay Pyi Taw through waterway and motor roads, work process to publish the Tri Pitaka treatises in Romanized language in the Buddha Park, curving of altar using modern CNC machines and the construction of religious buildings in the pagoda compound based on architectural works of the Yadanabon era.
Then, the study group viewed the scale model of the Buddha image, pagoda compound, Pitaka inscription chambers, samples of stone inscriptions, location of altar of the Buddha image and curving processes with the use of modern machines.
Similarly, the retired Tatmadaw officers, state/region Chief Ministers and wives visited the Buddha image construction site and the deputy chairman of the pagoda construction committee Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than clarified the work processes to convey the marble rocks, placement of the thrones and curving processes with the use of modern machines.
They also studied the scale model of the Buddha image and religious buildings to be constructed in the pagoda compound. — MNA
