Health staff gave the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to the people of aged 55 and above and Rakhine State civil servants who have not been vaccinated in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State yesterday.
The vaccines are produced from the People’s Republic of China and vaccinations were given at 9 am in various designated areas in the township.
During the vaccination, healthcare workers and officials made records for the vaccinated people.
Next, health officials measured the body temperature, blood pressure and monitoring oxygen level before the vaccination.
Vaccines were given systematically to the local people, and only those with normal health conditions are vaccinated, officials said.
After resting for about 30 minutes after being vaccinated, people were allowed to leave, officials said.
Vaccines were given for the first time to civil servants, people over 55-year-old in 13 wards in the village-tracts on 26 September, officials added.—Thet Lwin Soe (District IPRD)/GNLM
