In honour of Peasants’ Day, 24-hour electricity supply was launched for seven villages in Taungpohgyi Village-tract in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State, on Monday.
Shan State Minister for Electricity and Industry U Sai Tun Yin, Shan State Hluttaw MP Dr Tun Aung of Nyaungshwe Township and Township Administrator U Kyaw Zaw Hla cut a ribbon to mark the commencement of round-the-clock electricity supply to the local area.
Department of Rural Development allotted K57.4 million in 2013-14 fiscal year, K43.55 million in 2014-15 FY and local people K79.05 million for the implementation of the power supply project.
Thanks to the project, local people from 345 houses in seven villages can use electricity 24 hours a day.
