Enhance life of persons with disabilities with equality and non-discrimination

Human society needs not to act discrimination of gender, disability, IQ, EQ and others with holding up sympathy.
Everybody, including the abled and the disabled, is a member of human society. They all have an equal term of rights to shape their future and fortune as they like. Anyone does not have the rights to set aside others depending on the disabilities.
The word of disabilities is inclusive of deformities at body organs as well as in the mental soul. It is because nature bestowed not only fine personalities but deformities on everybody depending on general reasons.
Hence, nobody is empowered to remove or add any natural gifts of humans. That is why no one needs to blame for physical and mental disabilities on others.
On the other hand, everybody has responsibilities and obligations to give a helping hand to those with disabilities for shaping a better society with equality and non-discrimination.
Currently, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement is drafting the five-year national strategic plan for the rights of persons with disabilities in order to provide assistance to them. The five-year strategic plan is based on eight principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

That is why it can be said that the persons with disabilities in Myanmar can see a better future thanks to the implementation of the national strategic plan.

The convention mentions eight principles: Respect for inherent dignity, individual autonomy, including the freedom to make one’s own choices, and independence of persons; Non-discrimination; Full and effective participation and inclusion in society; Respect for difference and acceptance of persons with disabilities as part of human diversity and humanity; Equality of opportunity; Accessibility; Equality between men and women; and Respect for the evolving capacities of children with disabilities and respect for the right of children with disabilities to preserve their identities.
Myanmar’s national strategic plan is drafted with six chapters on health, education, jobs and employment, social protection, natural disasters and state of emergency. As such, it is sure that the plan would be reliable for improving the lifestyle of those with disabilities in Myanmar.
