Ensure smooth trade and commodity flow

Smooth and swift flow of trade and commodity plays a key role in booming State economy and improving people’s socio-economy. Smooth flow of trade depends on the proper process of trade and monetary circulation in a correct manner.
Riots in urban and rural areas are hindrances to trade and monetary circulation. Hence, local authorities encourage the banks to resume services and take security measures for customers of the banks to be free from disturbances.
The maritime trade process at home and abroad is possibly reliable for Myanmar because of the lack of hindrances, contributing to the resurgence of trade and commodity flow. Currently, merchants and port service providers, those from shipping lines and jetties, hold negotiations to seek proper solutions for port issues.
While striving for regularly levying duties and customs clearance for foreign trade, the Customs Department will make preparations for regular trade and commodity flow during long holidays in the coming long Thingyan festival. Thus, merchants and service providers may negotiate with port authorities for work processes.
Merchants and service providers should initiate sharing of information for a smooth process with authorities concerned. Any businesspersons can seek help from relevant authorities at any time.
Merchants wish to overcome challenges on the delay of drawing containers from ports and timetables for arrivals of vessels to export goods in time. At present, preparations are being made to export rice, beans and sesame to Bangladesh.
Jetties of ports and shipping lines need to collect fees for delay in taking out and entrusting the containers at ports in line with the notifications issued by Myanma Port Authority.
Merchants can seek assistance from departments concerned in taking out piles of containers from the wharves. Containers on the auction list will be removed from the wharves as quickly as possible. Anyone can browse the website of MPA for arrivals of cargo vessels on timetables. Regular operations of banks can help improve the payment process and import of vehicles by containers.
That is why all need to strive for a booming State economy, and socio-economy in unison as departments concerned negotiate a smooth and swift flow of trade and commodities.
