According to U Nay Win, Secretary of the Myanmar Drama Association (Central), the association is organizing a tour of the Yangon Region with an entertainment car for veteran artistes across Myanmar.
The event is scheduled to be held for the third time on 7 October at the National Theatre (Yangon) in Dagon Township.
At present, there are about 1,300 artistes aged 75 and above from various levels of performing arts.
“This will be the third time that we will be celebrating the event for the veteran artistes who have made a living in theatre throughout Myanmar. So far, we have arranged everything for the 1,300 people. An elderly expert will be paid K100,000 and other items will be included.
For this reason, entertainment vehicles and fund-raising groups have been travelling around and performing circus acts in shopping centres and markets in the Yangon Region,” U Nay Win added.
All the senior drama professionals from different levels will participate in the event. — ASH/KZL
