The entrance decorated with a ceremonial bronze drum (Kayin frog drum) on the way to Hpa-an from Mawlamyine was inaugurated marking the Diamond Jubilee Union Day yesterday.
The opening ceremony was started by playing the ceremonial bronze drum and blowing buffalo horns. Then, Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo highlighted the main symbol of the Kayin people, construction of entrance that began on 1 January 2022 and was completed on 7 February. He also extended wishes to the people.
Afterwards, the state chief minister pressed the button to open the entrance signboard and he also cut the ribbon together with state cabinet members and relevant officials.
After opening the moat, the state chief minister inspected picturesque views of the entrance way and the director of the state development committee gave the scale model of the entrance to the officials, including the Chief Minister. — Saw Myo Min Thein (IPRD)/GNLM
