Ethnic cultural troupes visit prominent landmarks in Nay Pyi Taw

Ethnic cultural troupes from regions and states who will present traditional performances at the 76th Union Day celebrations visited prominent landmarks in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
During their visit to Nay Pyi Taw, the cultural troupes visited the place of preparation to build the Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri township in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.
Officials explained the construction and carving of the Buddha image and its purpose. Afterwards, cultural troupes visited the pagodas where Tri Pitakat treatises were carved in Pali and Romanize languages.
Cultural troupes also visited Junction Centre, Gems Museum, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Building, Nay Pyi Taw Bodh Gaya, Uppatasanti Pagoda and Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Park.
There are 137 members from Kachin State, Kayah State, Kayin State and Chin State in ethnic cultural troupe 1 and there are 145 from Mandalay Region, Mon State, Rakhine State and Shan State in ethnic cultural troupe 2.
For the second day of study tour, they will visit National Landmarks Garden, Defence Services Museum, National Museum, Zoological Garden, Planetarium and Nay Pyi Taw Myoma Market. – Aung Ye Thwin and Gyaing Law/MKKS
