State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing speaks on the occasion of the award-giving event to offspring of military personnel, war veterans and military-substitute civiliant servants in Nay Pyi Taw on 23 July 2022.

Students must try their best to become Myanmar youths who can uplift the prestige of their families and their school as well as the State. They have to try hard to become good students in the student life and good teachers with discipline and good leaders in the future as they would be leaders of the nation at a time, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the ceremony to award offspring of military personnel, war veterans and military-substitute civilian servants for their outstanding and other multiple outstanding youths in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 academic year matriculation examinations at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
In his speech, the Senior General said that all the countries accept that human resource is of great importance in the persistent development of their countries. Every country emphasizes investment in the education sector as a human resource primarily depends on knowledge.
The Senior General praised for concerted efforts of officials concerned from Basic Education High School No 2 in Mingaladon and No 2 Education School and other schools with high pass rates, urging those from other schools with low pass rates to secure similar success.
The Senior General continued to say that in this ceremony, prizes will be awarded to 75 six-distinction winners, 178 five-distinction winners, six other ranks who secured two distinctions and 16 multiple outstanding youths. The remaining outstanding students will be awarded by relevant military commands. Moreover, deserved prizes will be given to Tatmadaw Basic Education High Schools and Tatmadaw Education Schools for their high pass rates.
From 2013-14 AY to 2018-19 AY, a total of 489 students with high marks have been given scholarship awards for learning university education including medical universities, universities of dental medicines, technological universities, universities of computer studies, universities of economics, education universities, agriculture university, veterinarian science, arts and science, maritime and aerospace universities.
One-third of all citizens have completed their middle school education according to the 2014 census and 2019 interim census. Hence, the government is implementing the plans for all school-age children to learn education till the KG+9 basic education middle school although the constitutions stipulate that primary school education is compulsory for all citizens.
In conclusion, the Senior General urged the students to try their best to become Myanmar youths who can uplift the prestige of their families and their school as well as the State.
Adjutant General Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein reported on the number of outstanding students who won distinctions in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 academic year matriculation examinations, Tatmadaw Education Schools and Tatmadaw basic education schools with high pass rates, and winning of multiple outstanding award winners.
The Senior General presented honorary awards and certificates of honour to BEHS No 2 (Mingaladon) called Aung San Thuriya Hla Thaung School for the best pass rate in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 academic year matriculation examinations and BEHS (Shwe Nattaung) for the second prize through the officers-in-charge of the schools respectively.
He also presented honorary prizes and certificates of honour for third prize for 2019-20 AY and first prize in 2021-22 AY to No 2 Education School (Meiktila) and second prize in 2019-20AY and third prize in 2021-22 AY to No 5 Education School to headmasters.
The Senior General also presented medals, honorary prizes and certificates of honour to Maung Ye Yint Min Htet, Ma Thoon Poe Yati, Maung Pyae Lin Thant, Ma Pan Pyae Thakin and Ma Yoon Nadi Aung for their multiple outstanding awards.
Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the Senior General, also gave medals, honorary prizes and certificates of honour to five female and male multiple outstanding students and five six-distinction winner students.
SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented honorary awards and certificates of honour to school administrators from No 11 Education School (Monywa), No 9 Education School, No 1 BEHS (Nay Pyi Taw) and BEHS (Hsenwi) for their high pass rates in two academic years respectively.
Then, he presented medals, honorary prizes and certificates of honour to six female and male multiple outstanding youth award winners and six-distinction winners respectively.
Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, gave medals, honorary prizes and certificates of honour to 10 six female and male multiple outstanding youth award winners and six-distinction winners respectively.
Afterwards, SAC members, secretary and joint-secretary and their wives as well as Union ministers and senior military officers presented outstanding students with flying colours in the matriculation examinations for two academic years.
Then, on behalf of outstanding students, Ma Shwe Pyae Lyan Oo spoke words of thanks. The Senior General posed for documentary photos with outstanding students and military personnel.
A total of 4,097 outstanding students were honoured at the ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw from 2011-2012 to 2018-19 AY and 6,966 outstanding students in respective military commands headquarters.
A total of 4,648 students who passed matriculation examinations with flying colours and other outstanding students will be honoured at relevant military command headquarters.
A total of 30 students with the highest marks among other students, three military personnel and two officers from Tatmadaw BEHS and Tatmadaw Education School with the highest pass rate arranged the trips to Singapore and Thailand for accumulating international knowledge and knowing the international culture. — MNA
