According to the Ministry of Education, the examination results from KG to Grade-11 in the academic year 2022-2023 will be released on 27 April. The new education system (from KG to Grade-12) will start from the 2023-2024 academic year.
According to the National Education Law, basic education students will have to study for 12 years after completing KG.
Under Section 16 in Chapter 5 of the National Education Law, basic education will be conducted for a total of 12 months in the next academic year after the KG education.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, there were a total of 2,758 basic education schools, 230 monastic schools and 273 private schools in the Yangon Region. — TWA/MKKS
