Exceptional twinning teak plants found in Sagaing Region

According to the Department of Forest, two teak trees under the age of 100 are growing together near Shwe Kyaung village, on the way to Kanan Sait area in Bamauk Township, Sagaing Region.
Though the trees are not yet a hundred-year-old according to their size, it is exceptional to find the twinning teak trees. The Department will cooperate with the locals to conserve the trees.
A chief monk from the Kanan Sait area said mature teak trees growing naturally in the same size and height as one another are reportedly hard to find due to the illegal loggers and natural disaster.
He added that conservation would be made to them as this type of valuable trees will less likely to find in the future.
Similarly, the Forest Department will also make an effort to continue to maintain two twinning teak trees growing in the Muslim cemetery in Kyaukkyi Town, in Bago Region. — Ngwe Oh (Katha)/GNLM
