Experience sharing seminar on overseas study held in Nay Pyi Taw

To make the civil servants qualified and proficient in various subjects, various civil servants from respective Union ministries are being selected and sent to make postgraduate studies at foreign universities.
The third week of the overseas study experience seminar was organized by the civil servants who have studied abroad to share experiences yesterday morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The seminar was attended by Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing, the deputy minister for Foreign Affairs, the permanent secretary, directors-general, deputy directors-general, and civil servants from respective departments.
At the seminar, Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin said scholars were sent to become missionaries who would serve the interests of the country and to become diplomats who could stand with the international community as subject matter experts in carrying out the interests of the country following the foreign policy set by the State.
He called for compliance with the civil service rules and regulations and ethics when serving the country at Myanmar embassies abroad.
The ministry is working to increase the human resources of the staff as well as the staff for the benefit of the country, he added. He congratulated the staff for successfully completing their international master’s degrees.
Officers with a master’s degree from the University of Sheffield and the University of Ritsumeikan, Japan, shared their study-abroad experiences, challenges and papers. Afterwards, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing and attendees asked questions.
Holding seminars on the experiences of the scholars increases the motivation for the young staff to want to learn higher education for the future, developing human resources and benefiting not only the staff but also the ministry and the state as they develop a desire to learn more about their subjects of interest. — MNA
