Famous writer Ko Pike passes away

Writer Ko Pike, renowned for his hunter novels, passed away from coronary artery disease at Insein General Hospital in Yangon at 3 am on 11 September, according to his daughter.
Ko Pike was (74) years old at the time of his death and had been residing in Shwepyitha Township, Yangon Region.
“My father had been suffering from coronary artery disease for a long time. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night, 8 September, and received life-saving injections. Sadly, he passed away at 3:10 am this morning. On behalf of my father, I want to thank everyone who donated money, including Saya John Lwin and those who supported us and prayed for him,” said Ma Zin Mar Pike Pike Htwe, the daughter of Ko Pike. Ko Pike worked for the Forest Department for over 30 years, basing his stories on his hunting experiences during that time. He wrote more than 300 hunter novels throughout his career. — ASH/TKO
