Farmers of quality paddy to get K140,000 per acre in Pathein District

Under the programme to remedy the economic impacts caused by the pandemic, the Agriculture Department will provide K140,000 per acre to the local farmers who are growing the good quality paddy grain in Kyaung Gone Township in Pathein District, it is learnt. Additionally, the department will reclaim a total of 500 acres of land for growing high-quality paddy — 450 acres for Yeetawmoetaw species and 50 acres for Yaekyanaut species. Providing of high-quality paddy seeds will enable the local farmers who are working on the high-quality paddy farms to get the jobs for harvesting and genetic exclusion, said U Htin Kyaw Oo, the township head from the Agriculture Department. There are more than 100,000 acres of monsoon paddy in Kyaung Gone Township.
