Fifth batch of Myanmar citizens repatriated from Malaysia

A total of 169 Myanmar nationals — 150 stranded in Malaysia, and 19 migrant workers who face difficulty to go to the worksite of Peck Chew Pilling (M) SdnBhd Company in Klang, Selangor State, Malaysia — were brought back yesterday.
Myanmar Airways International (MAI)’s relief flight had carried the Myanmar citizens to the Yangon International Airport.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government provided the returnees proper medical examination and arranged 21-day quarantine for them.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working in line with the guidelines set by the National Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 and cooperating with relevant ministries, Myanmar embassies abroad to repatriate Myanmar citizens stranded in other countries due to COVID-19.
Until now a total of 639 Myanmar citizens stranded in Malaysia have been brought back home. — MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
