The Department of Fisheries in Mandalay Region supplied the fish breeders in Madaya and Patheingyi townships with fingerlings yesterday under the Action Plan of COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP).
The assistance of small fry is aimed for recovery of this sector affected by the global pandemic.
Government has allocated K6,000 million to a total of 150,000 acres, with K40,000 worth of fingerlings per acre of fishing pond.
U Thaung Myint, a fish breeder from Madaya Township, expressed thanks for the cash assistance of the government.
Under the CERP, a total of 333 fish farm owners will receive 4.1 million fingerlings for 1,631.36 acres of fish ponds.—Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Sub-Printing House) (Translated by Aung Khin)
