Pinlebu Township Fisheries Department added fish species into development reservoir in Kankon village in Kinpan village-tract in Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Region on 27 October. The department is aimed at increasing fish consumption in rural areas, facilitating catching of fish on the part of the rural people, increasing fisheries resources in the township and developing the fisheries sector.
The fish adding ceremony was attended by U Thet Naung, chairman of the township management committee, the officials from the related departments in the township, Daw Khet Khet Wai Khine, the head of Township Fisheries Department and her staff and the villagers. They added 15,000 Rohu species of fish into the development reservoir.
“There are about 154 manageable-scale fish breeders in Pinlebu Township, and there are about 208 fish breeding ponds, which are 95.58 acres wide,” said the head of Township Fisheries Department. —Myo Lwin (Pinlebu) (Translated by Hay Mar)
